Problem :
In many food delivery apps, users often struggle with cluttered interfaces, confusing navigation, and lack of personalization. I set out to design a seamless mobile experience that simplifies food discovery, streamlines ordering, and improves user satisfaction — especially for first-time users or people ordering on-the-go.
Solution :
I developed Dera Kitchen, a modern food ordering app with a clean, intuitive UI that allows users to browse meals, customize their orders, and track deliveries in real time. From research and wireframes to high-fidelity screens and prototype animations, I handled the full design lifecycle using Figma — with a focus on clarity, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness.
Challenge :
The core challenge was creating a user experience that felt both visually appetizing and functionally effortless, without overwhelming users with too many options. Balancing engaging food visuals with smooth, frictionless interactions required careful planning of layout, typography, and color choices.
Designing for mobile also meant considering one-handed use, thumb-friendly navigation, and maintaining performance across screen sizes — while still ensuring brand consistency throughout the app.
Summary :
The final prototype presents a clean, user-first food delivery flow — from onboarding to checkout. This self-initiated project helped me sharpen my skills in UI hierarchy, design systems, user flow optimization, and mobile-first thinking.
